Snowbirds

I used to fear the coming of the winter
I used to fear chaos on the roads
7am and stationary on the M25
Ghostly drivers frozen in time

I'd kiss my wife goodbye lamenting a role I thought I'd never play
Walking an economic tightrope till my dying day
Crossed London Bridge to meet the boss and cursed the day we met
You held on tight, cos it was every man for himself

"Hold on for all your worth"
Those golden years are just around the bend

I'd be a snowbird, flying south for winter
If only I could swap gray skies for blue

Office daydreams, gazing out that window
See empty souls battling the rain
