He's signed three executive orders
That will intensify the criminalisation
Of communities of colour
Under the false premise of the need
To maintain law and order

He's leveraged public perception
That crime is on the rise
He has pulled a magic trick
Right before our eyes

The orders are as follows,
We simply guarantee
That if another president said the things he does
He would be impeached
Number One! The Presidential Executive Order on Preventing Violence Against Federal State, Tribal and Local Law Enforcement Officers

Now this solutions very nice and such,
If this problem were to exist
But this order's a bit too much
For something that's such a triviality

Violence against the Ayna
Is taken seriously everywhere
From Nueva York to Louisiana
Every District seems to care

There's Little Evidence that newer and harsher laws
Will solve anything at all

All they do is increase the stigma
About Minorities
They make them more of an enigma

POC, black males especially,
Are treated like they're harmful and deadly

Increased focus and heightened anxiety
only serve to put them at an even greater risk
For over-policing and other impropriety


Number Two! The Presidential Executive Order on Enforcing Federal Law with Respect to Transnational Criminal Organizations and Preventing International Trafficking


POC communities and Immigrant Communities
Already face harsher penalties for offenses
immigrants commit possibly even fewer crimes than citizens
Reinforcing existing Laws at a oppressed group's expense is

Not ideal
And will have a very real and devastating impact
On families across the country
No matter what their syntax


Whether they were born and raised
Or came over and stayed

If their skin is a little darker than what the norm should be
They'll be facing a very rough day at sea

Number Three! The Executive Order on a Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety

Heightened Focus on Illegal immigrants
Does little to address crime rates since

Undocumented immigrants do not commit
A disproportionate amount of crimes
I'll admit

Policies like this do more harm than good
It only serves to make the police more misunderstood
In the eyes of immigrants

Take this case for example
An immigrant Domestic Violence Survivor
Was recently detained at an El Paso Court
While Obtaining a protective order

This is type of action that can stop a victim
from seeking the help they need and deserve
If immigrants are scared that the feds are going to evict em
For coming forward they won't

The new administration
Has also been rolling back
Federal Environmental Regulations
Most of them Obama-Era policies

Black Americans are the most risk
For this mass Environmental Deregulation

They are exposed to 38% more polluted air than white Americans
And are 75% more likely to live in communities that are filled with
noise, odor, and chemical emissions

The current President's positions on education
Are also detrimental to People of Color
Why just this month, he appointed Betsy Devos
a billionaire capitalist whose interest in education
is rooted in school “choice” programs

She struggles to successfully articulate any working knowledge of the United States public school system
and shows no comprehension of federal laws protecting disabled students when asked

The administration's proposed cutbacks in education spending also mean less money for
sexual education programs, less support for higher education initiatives, and deeper cuts to public schools
It put poor and working-class POC students at even greater risk

And that is it for now
