A knocking and a waiting

Make a knock
Start a Thud
That thud which resonates
Amongst the clanging pots
And clanging pans
Its a clanging sham
That sits on a dinner ham

Open if you dare
Its the neighbours visit
Visited by your friends
They do not wish to talk
But instead walk
Across the keys
Of your delicate Ivory
Piano

Its not late
I made some Oolong tea
The leafs infused
Infused you and me
Another song played
A tuneful melody
But you won't be playing when we're gone
Its something you will forlorn

Its getting dark
The melody can be heard from the outside
But its no longer melodious
But instead the tune of the dial
The dial that awakened
That blazing red siren
It kept the time swinging its hands
In pitiful unrest

We made another knock
Knock on the door
My esteem fell to the floor
And lay wrapped up in the carpet
Never to be seen
But saw everything
That was going on

Quietly ushered in the house
The piano falls silent.
The oolong tea crisps and burns
Its a fire
Waiting for another turn
The embers are there
Waiting for the sirens flare
Open, if you dare
